Transferring KiwiSaver membership between providers

How do transfers work?

If you wish to transfer your existing KiwiSaver account held with another provider to the Fidelity Life KiwiSaver Scheme you will need to complete a Fidelity KiwiSaver Scheme application form and provide us with your identification

Once we receive your application form and have verified your account we will notify Inland Revenue that Fidelity Life is your preferred KiwiSaver scheme provider. We will then advise your old scheme provider to close your existing account and forward your account funds to your new Fidelity KiwiSaver Scheme account. We will confirm with you once the funds are received and the process is completed.

Transfers between providers are usually completed within 35 days. If there have been changes to your personal details such as a marriage or other change of name, this may delay the transfer process. Please provide evidence of your identification to assist the transfer process. This may include but not be limited to change of name confirmation or other legal documentation.

Once we receive your funds from your existing provider we will credit your funds into your Fidelity KiwiSaver Scheme account and provide you with written confirmation of the amounts transferred.

Most KiwiSaver providers, including Fidelity Life, will not charge to close accounts when a member elects to move to a different provider. However we would suggest you check with your own provider for any fees that may occur.
