I would like more information on my existing risk policy

What should I know if I am thinking about cancelling my policy?

The main disadvantage to you if you cancel your risk policy is loss of the security that it provides you and your family.  If you are moving your cover to another provider you will have to go through the application process again, and this can be difficult with age and health problems.  Certain other conditions, such as the waiting period on Critical Care benefits, also start again when you move your policy from one company to another, leaving you unprotected during this time.

Many of our plans receive a loyalty discount of 10% once they have been in force with Fidelity Life for over five years.  This discount will be lost if you move your plan.

If you are looking elsewhere, and have found a plan offering cheaper rates, be cautious.  Are you comparing like benefits and features?  Fidelity Life's products are rated as competitive in the market place based on both price and product terms, and are often more flexible than our competitors.  If you are insured with Fidelity Life you also have the security of knowing that we are New Zealand's oldest locally owned and operated life company, with over 30 years of experience in this market.

What can I do if I can't afford to keep paying my premiums?

There are a number of options if you are wanting to reduce your premiums.  They may be increasing because of your age, or your financial situation may have changed and you simply need to cut costs.

You can restructure your benefits by increasing waiting periods, cancelling extra features or reducing cover, or you can remove certain benefits from your plan.  If you have Critical Care cover as part of your risk plan you may want to look at our Life Care Benefit as a lower-cost alternative.  Talk to your adviser about the options available to you.
